Move in date is now set- April 1st ( April Fools Day ;-) - for real or not? FOR REAL!
Progress continues to be made at our house. Since the last update, there are a few things that have been completed or at least progress is still being made on.
Last Saturday (March 5th) we had a big moving party (all volunteers from our church) to empty the contents of the basement and garage at the rental house and bring it over to our new house so that the "official" moving day (March 26th) won't be so overwhelming. Lot's of "stuff" to go through (and probably a lot to get rid - but for now, it just had to be brought over and put down in the basement) We're on a very tight timeline and "stuff" just has to get done quickly at this point. Now we just have the contents of the main floor of the rental house to move (and a few other things) to bring back to our house, the end of March - when we MOVE OUT OF THE RENTAL. (YIPPPEEEE- And WON'T have to deal with the RUDE, SNOTTY LANDLORDS ever again) We had so many volunteers (men, women, and youth) IT WAS SUCH A HUGE HELP AND GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! :-)
Painting of the walls and ceilings is complete inside the house. The only painting that remains to be completed is in the garage as well as the doors and trim.
The siding guy has really messed us up time wise (as well as all the rain that we've had) he hasn't shown up for the past 10 days (maybe one day in that 10 day period) so we are behind with the siding. BUT I hear that he is at the house today ( I WILL DRIVE BY TO SEE FOR MYSELF :-) So hopefully the rains stay away this week and he can get finished with ALL of the siding by Wednesday (Thursday the latest).
The tile for the "living space" has been delivered (on Sat 3/12) and will start to be installed on Wed. :-) SO EXCITED!
On Friday March 4th the new pole and Electric line was installed (evidently an unheard of event that both happen in the same day - must have been all of Chris's "patient" phone calls to the Electric company- or the lady got sick of all the phone calls and messages that he was leaving ;-) SO NOW WE HAVE ELECTRIC running into the house (not the temporary service that we had)
This Wednesday the water line from the street to the house will be installed. Then we'll have running water and electric. YIIPPPPPEEEE! :-)
The trim and doors will be delivered on Tuesday and on Wed it will start to be installed.
Permanent stairs were installed this past Sat (3/12/11). Attic stairs were also installed. Temporary stairs were put up out the back sliding doors (to get a C of O you have to have either stairs up or the door blocked up at all entrances and exits)
The final coats of the hardwood floors will be done some time the end of next week (after the tile is completed)
The Kitchen cabinets are being delivered on Monday (3/21/11) :-) and will be installed that week also.
Kitchen appliances arrive on Monday March 28th :-) and will also be installed that week.
Final Electrical and plumbing work to be completed by March 30th.
THEN WE MOVE IN ON APRIL 1st :-) WHOOOO HOOOOO
Can't wait to BE BACK HOME. Can't wait to have you OVER FOR DINNER. :-)
That's it for now. I'll post some current pictures soon.
Till next time. :-) Probably after we get back into the house. PUNCH LIST TIME. ;-)

Insulation in. Siding begun. :-) When Mom's HAPPY ;-) Everyone gets to be HAPPY!
Since the last update, lots of progress has been made on the house. Plumbing and Electrical roughing is complete and passed inspection. Insulation is all in and passed inspection. Sheetrock is on it's 2nd day of installation (as I type this.) 1/3 of the house is finished being sheetrocked. Siding had begun but then we had FREEZING Temperatures, and SNOW (SURPRISE- it's been a SNOWY 4 weeks- that's all I can say) and now the guy is sick on top of that. So HOPEFULLY after today's snowstorm, it will be a GO again for the insulation to begin again. ( Newest prediction 7- 12 inches of new snow tonight through tomorrow morning- on top of the already 10 inches that is already on the ground from the past few weeks auugghhh- I like SNOW but ENOUGH ALREADY- I have a house that I have to get out of by the middle of March and a NEW ONE WAITING PATIENTLY TO GET INTO :-)
Garage Doors have been delivered and installed. They look AWESOME. (anything looks better than blue tarps drapped across the openings of the garages ;-) PSE&G has come and installed our new gas line. Waiting for United Water to come and install the new Water line, then we can unstall and run the heat in the house so that the taping and spackling guy can come and finish that task. Then the floors can be installed, the kitchen and appliances can get installed and then we can trim and paint and MOVE BACK HOME! :-) SO here are some pictures/ short video that I've taken of the Insulation. It's hard to show all of the progress cause you really can't appreciate through pictures, the plumbing and electrical work that has been done.
ENJOY FOR NOW!
This is the east side of the house where they started the siding. The color is called Hearthstone. The sides and back of the house will be "smooth". And the front will have a cedar impressions look to it. When it gets installed, I'll post a picture. They did this side first so that they could get all the utilities (electrical, gas and water meters) attached to the outside of the house.
This is the garage. Stairs on the left hand side are the stairs to go up into the main floor of the house. The stairs on the right hand side are the stairs to get down into the basement/Tanya's room.
PROUD POPPA!
PROUD MOMMA with 2 of her girls!
This is our new bathtub that was delivered and installed. AND THEN, Chris found a big old chip in the tub. :-( Now it has to be UNINSTALLED and taken back and a new one needs to be delivered. aauugghhhhhh These are the things that cause everything else to get backed up.
McKayla's room
Master Bedroom
View from Bedroom "wing" looking into the kitchen area and (off to the right) the sunroom.
View from the front of the house. Front door (not installed yet) and front porch.
View looking from foyer into sunroom (left) and the family room with fireplace (right) and where all the boxes are is the dining area. It's a dining/ kitchen area combined. No formal dining room.
GARAGE DOORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
McKayla's room sheetrocked. These "guys" have a little propane griddle set up in that room and were heating up Tortilla shells for lunch. FUNNY. :-)
ONE THING THAT IS NOT FUNNY, is that while I was looking around and checking out the progress of the work being done, I found in a couple of places on the floor, SOMEONE thought they were outside and spit some DISGUSTING LOOGIES on MY FLOOR. I don't care that it is an unfinished floor, WHO DOES THAT????? GROSS!

Front view of the house. It's hard to get a full on view of the house because we have 2 storage units in the front yard. PLUS we have 2 trees that block the full view too. So this view is standing in the driveway looking to the West. Spanning left to right: Garages, front porch, little window is Master bathroom window, front window is Master bedroom window.

It's BEEN a LOOONNGGG TIme since I've updated......
So as you can see I stink at keeping up our BLOGSPOT. I know I haven't updated in a while, but that is also because things have been going SLOWER than I would LIKE. It is now after the holidays and we are suppose to be moving into the house by the begining of Feb. And that is NOT looking like that is going to happen. Oh well, we are trying. There have been A LOT of factors as to WHY it isn't going to be done on time. But I won't BORE you with all of them. Let's just stick with the positive right now and pray for some miracles.... :-) A lot of the progress has been done on the inside of the house. The electrical roughing is all finished and we passed inspection so that is GOOD news. The rough Plumbing should be finished by next week some time and then we have to have inspections for that work. After we pass the plumbing inspection we can then begin insulation and sheetrocking. (hopefully the week of Jan 17th) The siding will begin the middle of the month, barring no more snow storms (that causes terrible delays) The garage doors and the kitchen cabinets should be here by the week of Jan 24th. (maybe sooner) Appliances are ordered :-) Some are here already and some we are still waiting for. Then we have to get the flooring put in (Tile in the kitchen/dining area, foyer, powder room, mud room, master bathroom, girls bathroom, mom's bathroom. Then hardwood floors in all the bedrooms, family room, living room. ) So HOPEFULLY we will be IN by the beginning of March. We'll keep you posted.......
